The Crystal Cherubim Excerpt:
Sweat was rolling down Thicke’s brow and into the detectives eyes making the glare of the white hot light all the more unbearable. “Look I told you I never saw the gun before in my life. Why don’t you check the damn thing for fingerprints?” Thicke wiped his hands over his face for the umpteenth time and asked for a glass of water. “Sure” said a voice. Thicke heard the tinkling of ice and water being poured into a glass. In a moment an arm with a frosted glass of ice cold water appeared out of the inky darkness. As Thicke reached hungrily for the cool liquid the arm stopped moving toward him and abruptly retreated into the black. “Just as soon as you tell us who put the gun in the locker.” “How many times do I have to tell you?” Thicke anguished. “I received a note in the mail saying there was information about the Crystal Cherubim in the locker. It didn’t say anything about a gun. You’ve got the note. Why don’t you read it?”">
